Angels And Their Wings

I’m sure you’ve wondered why,
Why angels fly so high.
So high above the earth,
So high above our world.
So carefree they can fly,
Have you never wondered why?

There were wings up- up there
That could fly to their heart’s content, oh yeah!
But they wanted earthly imperfections,
But they sought the human touch,
So together in a great formation that blocked out the sun’s glare
They flew- they flew down to there.

Meanwhile, some people on the planet gazed up at the skies,
They wanted purity and peace, and there was longing in their eyes.
They wished so hard,
They prayed so long,
And finally catapulted into the bluey highs:
For them there could be no more lies.

People with wings won’t fall to unholiness,
And anchored wings can’t reach heights of self-righteousness.
So together they worked as a team,
So together they worked well,
And so together have potential success
In creating all-round happiness.

Happiness is an in-between;
Inbetween chances taken and opportunities not yet seen.
It’s carefree,
It’s not careless,
It’s an angels taking you where you’ve never been,
And that urge to say things you really mean.

Angels really do such things,
You know, angels and their wings.
Fate’s little helpers,
Fate’s little friends,
So whatever Providence brings,
It’s brought over by angels - angels and their wings.
