Lured by the bloody smell
Mozzies, frenzied, rush like hell
To the kill.
A killer party,
All dead drunk,
Bare arms flaling,
Suckers sunk
Into sweaty flesh
And the intoxicating nectar drunk.
Swirling music,
Dancing light,
Swarming faces
In the night:
Glittering eyes,
Glittering jewels,
Sweet thoughtless lies
From the lips of fools.
(It’s an orgy
For the mozzies
Who love gorging
On the Aussies)
Always too much,
Never enough,
Playing it rough
With that sickly stuff
Inebriated
Dancing on collar and cuff
A kind of congo can-can combo
To the beat
Of the sweet
Pulse.
Again
All is invincible and Zen,
Zooming around the garden,
Final drinks
("say when")
And then-
Muddled morning mist,
Sounds of silence laced
With echoes of sleep missed
And a head cased
In buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzing.
