Fish Head

The man who believed he had fish in his jaw
Had no real aversion to tell anyone he saw
About it.

"Why, hello there!" he'd call
Out to you
And after the small
Talk you knew
That he'd swear it was true
- He had proof of it too! -
That his jaw was full of goldfish
(Not one, but a few!)

The shrinks, they all said
"What can we do?"
But the books that they read
Would offer no clue.
So they put him in bed
(As with a sore head)
And he would tell them
One was blue, one was green, one was stiped pink and red.

Thus a consensus was reached;
The man was quite mad!
Mad
Mad
Mad
Mad
Mad
Which is supposedly bad,
Though truth be told he had
Quite an ordinary life;
A job, a house, a car, a wife
With two kids, and it
Was well known he'd sit
With his friends to watch sport on
The television
Every Saturday night.
So it came as a fright
To find that in spite
Of him being so normal
There was no formal
Explanation of this funnyish
Kind of blemish
On his mental health.

But lo and behold!
A doctor arrived
So wise and so bold
To suggest a cure contrived
Of pure genius gold!

"The answer is clear" said the corpulent shrink
"Here's what you do - though it's just what I think -
Tell no-one no more
'Bout those extraordinary fish in your handsome jaw
And soon you will find
That poeple are kind
To those who embrace
Being bland"

"Oh! Thank you doc!" cried out the man
And thrust out his hand
To be shaken (not stirred)
As courtesies demand.
He walked out the door,
The fish in his jaw
Sloshing about like mad.
