It was another morning
On the Good Life Farm,
The sun was smiling,
It meant no harm.
The chicken came,
It asked
"How do you do?"
The egg replied
"Jus' swell, 'n you?"
The chick got flustered
"You already asked that question, fool!"
"The very same?"
"When you first came,
Don't you remember the counting game?
I came, you came, who came first?
Though what does it really matter,
We'll both end up on a platter
At the dinner table anyhow"
"Oh yes! I remember now!"
And the egg recalled that time
It was another morning
On the Good Life Farm,
The sun was smiling,
It meant no harm.
The egg had come,
And asked
"How do you do?"
The chick replied
"Jus' swell, 'n you?"
The egg got flustered
"You already asked that question, fool!"
"The very same?"
"When you first came,
Don't you remember the existance game?
Am I of you, or you of me?
The question of well-being
Is merely a way of seeing
If we care about our lives and how"
"Oh yes! I remember now!"
And the chicken recalled that time
(Time and time again, on and on and on
So the story goes,
So the question grows,
Going, going, never gone
It just shows
That no-one knows
At all)
