Dark Lane - the road from Thorngumbald to Paull.

At this point, passing Boreas Hall towards Boreas Hill and Paull, it is marked on older maps as "Dark Lane."
Although Dutch Elm Disease has thinned the trees out considerably, it can still be a gloomy place
(unlike this sunlit photograph) and local legend holds that it is haunted!
