ILLNESS FATAL TO MR. JOY
Funeral Services to be Held at Funeral Chapel Here Tomorrow Morning
James A. Joy of 126 West Boulevard died at his home yesterday morning after a year’s declining health.
Born in Gaston county December 23, 1896, he was the son of the late Sidney A. and Emma Jay [sic] Joy. He was a contractor and had lived in Charlotte for 25 years.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Christine L. Joy; a daughter, Miss E. June Joy; two brothers, O. F. and Lloyd A. Joy of Mecklenburg county; three sisters, Mrs. A. C. Fisher of Charlotte, Mrs. H. F. Bost of Belmont and Mrs. S. A. Abernathy, both of Belmont; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 11 A.M. at Hankins-Whittington Funeral home. Interment will be in Elmwood cemetery. Rev. T. H. Biles of Berryhill Baptist church and Rev. William Harris Blair of Chalmers A. R. P. church will officiate.
