Article from "The Charlotte Daily Observer," Saturday, August 26, 1893:

Mrs. Hipp, of Paw Creek, Died Suddenly of Heart Disease
Paw Creek was shocked yesterday morning to learn that on the night previous, death had claimed Mrs. James Hipp, she dying suddenly of heart disease about 10 o'clock. Mrs. Hipp had not been well for some time, but was feeling as well as usual Thursday night. She was in the act of getting ready to retire, when she fell over, and almost before her family could realize what had happened, she expired. Deceased was generally beloved throughout her neighborhood, and leaves a large circle of friends to regret her sudden death. The funeral takes place at Paw Creek this morning.
