Notes for Clyde Millard Love

Clyde was the victim of poisonous gas used by the Germans in World War I. After the war he returned home, but his mental condition deteriorated until he had to be hospitalized. He spent his remaining years in V. A. Hospitals and nursing homes. He was never married.

Clyde M. Love, age 81, of Rt. 14, Charlotte, passed away Wednesday, August 22, 1973 in Durham, NC. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Saturday, August 25, 1973 at Paw Creek Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jefferson K. Aiken, pastor of the church, officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Love was born May 15, 1892 in Mecklenburg County, son of the late James M. and Ruth Ann Hipp Love. He was a veteran of World War I, member of Paw Creek Presbyterian Church and a brick mason. Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Ida Love Hall and Mrs. B. B. Sisk, both of Charlotte; five brothers, J. A. Love, R. A. Love, W. Melvin Love, Macon H. Love, Avery M. Love, Sr., all of Charlotte. Pallbearers will be nephews. Mr. Love will be taken to the church thirty minutes prior to the funeral hour. Arrangements by McEwen.
