William Melvin Love, age 73, of Rt. 14, Moores Chapel Rd., husband of the late Emma Orr Love, passed away Thursday, March 7, 1974 in Mercy Hospital. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Saturday, March 9, in Paw Creek Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jefferson K. Aiken, Jr., minister, and Rev. Harry Queen, minister of Moores Chapel United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. A retired farmer, Mr. Love was born July 15, 1900 in Mecklenburg County, son of the late James M. and Ruth Hipp Love, a member of Paw Creek Presbyterian Church and the Men's Bible Class. Surviving are: one daughter, Mrs. Ruth Ann Smith of Charlotte and one son Adrian M. Love of Charlotte; two sisters, Mrs. Ida Love Hall, and Mrs. Brill Sisk, both of Charlotte; four brothers, J. A. Love of the home, Roy A. Love, Macon H. Love and Avery M. Love, all of Charlotte; four grandchildren, Mrs. Judy Love Clawson, Dale Love, Miss Shelain Smith and Kelvin Smith, all of Charlotte. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. Mr. Love will be taken from McEwen Funeral Home to the church thirty minutes prior to the funeral hour.
