Cumi attended Hartgrove School in Mecklenburg county in 1918. The school was located in the Moore's Chapel community, and included grades 1-5. Her class picture appears in "The Charlotte Observer," Wednesday, July 13, 1988, Mecklenburg Neighbors section, p.10.
