Notes for Richard Combs Clary

"(Richard and Cary Clary) lived about the mill that is now known as the Davis Mill, but was then called the Clary Mill tract, which Richard bought in 180(?). Their farm had a total of 668 acres of land which included the present town of Hiddenite.
Richard Combs Clary died February 2(?), 1830 and was buried on a knoll above his father in the family cemetery. Cary followed her husband on June 23, 1854. Richard and Cary Clary were the parents of nine children." [by James H. note: two conflicting dates for death of Richard Clary - latest date may be that of probation of will.

24 Nov 1807, Hugh Warren to Richard Combs Clary for $700, 100 acres on waters of Lower Little River joining Moses Freeman and William Warren originally granted 1797 to Hugh Warren and sold to Alexander McKee in 1805 and repurchased by Warren in 1805.
