1835 Pension List, Lincoln County, North Carolina:
Alexander Moore, private, North Carolina Militia, $33.88 annual
allowance, $101.64 amount received, July 8, 1833 pension started, age 80.

Will abstract: wife Elizabeth; daughters Ann REINHARDT, Elizabeth
RANKIN, Rosanna SCOTT; daughter-in-law Jane MOORE; sons Alexander,
Robertson MOORE, James, William; son-in-law Michael REINHARDT. Executor:
wife, sons Wm Moore & James Moore. Witnesses: Frederick LINEBARGER, Sr.
& David LINEBARGER.

[p.100] Daughter of John Joseph Brown and Mary Balsora Abernethy, his
wife.
Granddaughter of Joseph Abernethy and Ann Rankin, his wife.
Gr.-granddaughter of Alexander Rankin and Elizabeth Moore, his wife.
Gr.-gr.-granddaughter of Alexander Moore and Elizabeth Robinson, his
wife.
Alexander Moore was the youngest of four patriot brothers. He served as a
private and when Tarleton was overrunning the State, their home never
escaped the search of the bold cavalry leader, but he was not captured
owing to his ingenious methods of concealment. He died in Gaston county
in 1837, aged eighty-four. [sic]

Alexander Moore (1753-1837) was placed on the pension roll of Lincoln
County, 1832, for service as private, North Carolina militia. He was born
in Lincoln County; died in Gaston County, N. C.
