Epitaph: "Sacred to the memory of Richard Rankin who died March 23, 1804,
aged 35 years. How still and peaceful is the grave where life's rain
tumults past; th' appointed house, by Heaven's decree receive us al at
last."

Mecklenburg County Estates Records: appointed as Administrators of
Richard Rankin's estate on 23 April 1804 and April 1806 -- William,
Alexander and Susanna Rankin.
