Notes for George Dickson Poteet
From research of Judy C. Miele:
"George D. Poteet, d. Nov. 15, 1856, age 21 years, 2 months, 18 (?)
days. I found an article in Asheville a few years ago about a Poteet man
killed while working on a trestle for water for mining. This was in
Dysartville which is the area where our families lived. The newspaper
article was dated Dec. 4, 1856. We are sure this was George D. Poteet."
