Notes for Jemima Poteet
Jemima Poteet may be listed as the wife of George W. Wadkins in the 1850
census of Burke County. Family #604/604 was headed by George W. Wadkins
age 24 of Tennessee. His wife Jemima is 22 and was born in North
Carolina. Sons Elisha age 2 and another son age 3/12 were born in North
Carolina. The name of the second son appears to be Bulow but is hard to
make out.
