Notes for Silas Gilbright Orr, Sr.

Silas Orr served as the administrator for the estate of Jane McCulloch, wife of Robert Lemmond, in 1843.

His death was noted in "The Charlotte Democrat," Friday, February 27, 1885.

Article from "The Charlotte Observer," Thursday, February 26, 1885:
-- Policeman Joe Orr was yesterday afternoon called to the country by the death of his father, an old gentleman who was about 85 years of age. His death occurred at the residence of Mr. Capp Orr, about 2 p.m. yesterday.

Article from "The Charlotte Observer," Friday, February 27, 1885:
-- The funeral of the late Silas Orr was conducted from his residence, by Rev. Chas. W. Robinson, pastor of Sugar Creek church, at 12 o'clock yesterday and his remains were interred in the Sugar Creek cemetery. He had been a member of the Presbyterian church for over 60 years.
