Probably had other children - census of 1830 shows possibly 8.

Philip R. Underwood-Sheppard wrote:
"I'm going to transcribe a document on the Hipp (Hepp) family that I inherited from Grandpa. It does not list Larken as a son of Andrew, but of course, I do not know who gave this to Grandpa. Here is the pertinent part with my stuff in [ ___ ]:

"Andrew Hipp, son of Valentine Hipp, married Mable Perry, probably the daughter of Francis Perry of Mecklenburg County, N. C. His children were:
1. Mary (Polly) Hipp married James Murphy
2. Margaret Hipp married James H. Neal [which Neal this is, I don't know]
3. Mable Dorcus Hipp married John Cathy
4. Gray Perry Hipp
5. Pinckney
6. William Baldwin Hipp married Jane Lawing [my aunt]
7. John Moreland Hipp married Fannie Waddell Lawing [my aunt]
8. Andrew Hipp, Jr. married Martha Lawing [a cousin]
9. James Hipp married Lucinda Coltharp

30 January 1812 - Mecklenburg Co., NC Deed Book 19:624
Probably the Andrew Hipp who purchased land from Jackson Westmoreland.
This Indenture made April 10th 1810. Between Jackson Westmoreland of Mecklenburg County in North Carolina of the one part. And Andrew Hip of the same place of the other part. Witnesseth that for the consideration of the sum of 500 dollars in hand paid to the sd Jackson Westmoreland. He hath given granted bargained sold convey + confirmed unto him the said Andrew Hip his heirs and assigns fore ever a certain piece or parcel of land Containing 105 acres on the waters of Long Creek...being part of a tract of land originally owned by Jno McKnitt Alexander by patent dated April 6, 1765...signed J.
Westmoreland...witnessed by Valentine Hipp, Solomon (Query?)...registered January 30 1812

16 September 1831 - Mecklenburg Co., NC Deed Book 22:192
Probably the Andrew Hipp who purchased 150 acres of land on the waters of Long Creek in Mecklenburg County from Henry Hoover for $400. Bounded by the long branch, Wm McLeary's corner and line, John McLeary's corner on Wm McCormick's line, to King's corner and line, to a stake by the road then along Valentine Hipp's old line, along John Neel's line, to the beginning.
