Notes for Miriah Barbara Warlick

Died "In the 70th year of her age."

In 1770, Barbara Warlick received from her father Daniel Warlick a deed for 200 acres of land in Lincoln County, NC (Tryon/Lincoln Co., NC Deed Book 1:128-129. Recorded 16 Dec 1769.) After receiving the land, Barbara married H. Thomas Hoover. After the death of their mother and father, the surviving heirs filed a Bill of Complaint (Lincoln County, NC Equity Court) against their brother Jacob Hoover and wife Elizabeth to force him to agree to a sale of the land rather than a division into eleven parcels. Subscribing to the complaint were Solomon Hoover, Daniel Hoover, Henry Hoover, Philip Hoover, Thomas Hoover, Daniel Seagle and wife Sarah (Hoover), Jacob Brem and wife Eve (Hoover), George Sides and wife Polley (Hoover), and Barbara Shuford. Note that Henry Hoover is still alive - further proof that the Henry Hoover who died in 1824 in Lincoln County was not the son of Thomas and Barbara Hoover.
