Abstract of last will & testament:
Iredell Co., NC Will Book 2, pp 209: Thomas Lazenby, 7 Jan 1835, proved
May 1840 session. Wife: Sally. Sons: Elias - plantation where he lives;
John - plantation where he lives; Thomas - 152A I now live on subject to
the life estate of my wife. Daughters: Elizabeth Robey, Mary Summers
decd, Lucy Murdock, Sally Lovelace. Grandson: Thomas Murdock, son of
John Murdock. Executors: son Thomas Lazenby. Witnesses: Robert S.
Hall, Elam Gaither, jurat, Perry Tomlinson, BS

Article from "The Heritage of Iredell County 1980," published by the
Iredell County Genealogical Society, article #326 written by Calveen
Sherrill Grant, page 354:
"Thomas Lazenby, born in 1749 and the son of Robert Lazenby, served as a
Revolutionary soldier in the 7th Company Upper Battalion of Montgomery
Militia, Maryland. In 1786 he married Sarah Ridgeway, born 1754. He
moved to North Carolina in the autumn of 1785, and his will is recorded
in Iredell County Book 2, page 209. Thomas & Sarah had a son, Elias,
born June 6, 1790. On October 10, 1818 Elias married Mary Ellis born
1794. They had son Elias Pinkney Lazenby, born May 2, 1820."

In 1804, Thomas Lazenby bought land on Fifth Creek near his brothers
Henry and Joshua and his sister Elizabeth Farrell. [Mary Elinor Lazenby,
