March 4th 1850
Witness: Jas. A. Cathey and Tom A. Cathey

(Note: Executor Thomas H. Brem was the son of Henry's sister Eva Hoover and her husband, Jacob Brem. Like Henry Hoover, he resided in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina.)

On 8 February 1875, a payment was recorded to the Mecklenburg County estate of David Leander Love. The payment was made by T. H. Brem from the estate of Henry Hoover, as stipulated in the last will and testament of Henry Hoover.

Note: There was another Henry Hoover in Lincoln County who died in 1824 and left a will naming a wife - Mary Eliza - and five children. Some researchers list this Henry Hoover as the son of H. Thomas Hoover. However, the 1833 will of H. Thomas Hoover names son Henry as an heir, so son Henry is not the same Henry who died in 1824.
Also, see the notes for Mariah Barbara Warlick concerning the disposal of her land among her heirs for further proof that Henry Hoover, her son, did not die in 1824.

(Note: The Mecklenburg County death certificate for Francis Marion Hoover names his father as Henry Hoover, and gives his father's place of birth as Lincoln Co., NC)

Regarding the name "Henry Honvae Honvat" which appears in some genealogies: A typed transcription of the last will and testament of Henry Houser (York District, SC Will Book G:78) was executed and microfilmed for the South Carolina Archives. This transcription of the last will and testament was an interpretation of the original by a transcriber. The transcriber, in being unable to discern the spelling of the name of the son-in-law in article six of the will inserted the text "I will and bequeath to my son-in-law Henry Honvae (Honvat)..." The original document contains the following: "my son-in-law Henry Houver." The name "Henry Hoover" appears in a list of those persons purchasing items at the estate sale.

In addition, the last will and testament of Christina Howser (York Co., SC Will Book 3, pp 368. Case #34 File #1457), wife of Henry Houser, names in Item 2 her daughter Mary Hoover.

The name of the husband of Mary Houser, daughter of Henry Howser and Christina Heavner is Henry Hoover, not Henry Honvae or Henry Honvat, as incorrectly transcribed.
