Notes for Samuel Buchanan

"Margaret Buchanan was a sister of my Samuel Buchanan. He was on the
1790 census page 163 Mecklenburg Co., NC, this near the Lemmond family.
My Buchanan came from Lancaster Co., PA around 1760 to Rowan County, to
Mecklenburg County around 1771. Sam's land was on Crooked Creek.
Margaret Buchanan was my Samuel Buchanan's sister. They came from
Lancaster Co., PA 1762C to Rowan Co. now Rockingham Co. then to
Mecklenburg Co. 1771C." [Henry Buchanan, research, (03 May 1998)]

"I think (that Margaret BUCHANAN was the sister of Samuel BUCHANAN) but
have no real proof. My Samuel Buchanan was born 1726, died 01-01-1821
York Co SC. I think he was the son of Samuel who got land in Lancaster
Co., PA in 1737. My Sam lived on the north and middle fork of Crooked
Creek near John Lemmond." (Henry Buchanan, 28 Jan 1999)

Mecklenburg County Will Book C, p 110. 28 Jun 1795. Last will and
testament of Joseph Galbreath, millwright. Mentions moneys due him ($6)
from James Orr (jockey.) A Samuel Buchanan was witness to the will.
