Administrators Bond, 26 Nov 1827. John F. McNeely was appointed administrator of the estate of John G. Alexander, and bound in the amount of $1000 to Gov. Hutchins G. Burton. Security Alexr. Robison. Wit: Isaac L. Alexander.

Petition for Dower. Nov. Term 1827 - John Hutchison, the attorney representing Betsy Alexander, widow of the deceased, requested her share in the real estate of the deceased. The court appointed the following committee to lay off the dower requested: Matthew Wallis, Esqr., James A. Todd, Jos. R. Sample, & Robert Barnett.

Provisions for a year, 18 Dec 1827 - In pursuance of an order of court a committee was appointed consisting of Matthew Wallace, J. P., Jos. K Samples, Dan Alexander and Jos A. Todd who laid off the follow provisions for the widow and family: 100 bushels of corn, 200 lbs. of flour, 500 lbs. of pork, one beef - widows choice, 100 lbs of brown sugar, 40 lbs. of coffee, 3 bushels of salt, and $5 in money for small items.

Return, May 1828 Term - The administrator reported that the money that had come into his hands since the last term came to $52 from three judgments collected by the Sheriff John Sloan.

Guardian Bond, 25 May 1830 - Elizabeth ("Betsy") Alexander was appointed guardian of the estate of Ann Carolyn, Susan Clarissa, & Sarah Jane Alexander, her own children and orphans of John G. Alexander, Decd., and bound in the sum of $200 to John Owens, Gov. of N. C., secured by Mars H. Alexander.

Settlement, 10 July 1830 - This settlement was made to Justices Matthew Wallace & Dan Alexander at which time the administrator reported that $182.59 had come into his hands and that he had settled debts to creditors totaling $175. 92 leaving a balance in his hands of $6.67. The creditors were as follows: Caleb Irwin, Saml. McCanles, Elias Alexander, Albert Wilson, Robt. Means, David Parks, John Jamison[?], James Alenson Hall[?], Wm. N. Spears, Saml. T. Wilson, Dan Alexander, Andrew McNeely, John F. McNeely, Josiah Alexander, Mary V. Todd, Rev. Robt. H. Morrison, Wm. Smith, Jos. McGinnis, Dr. P. C. Caldwell, Josian Mongomery, John Sloan, Isaac Alexander, Wm. Luckey, & Elizabeth Alexander.

Guardian Bond, 1 March 1834 - Elizabeth Alexander was appointed guardian of the estate of Caroline, Susan, & Jane Alexander, Orphans of John G. Alexander, Decd., and bound in the sum of $200 to David S. Swain, Gov. of N. C., secured by Mars H. Lemmond. Wit. by [?] Thompson.

Return, Oct 1834 Term - Silas Orr, Guardian of Susan C. Alexander, now Susan C. Miller, and her sister Sarah J. Alexander reported to court that their share in the sale of their father's land came to $67.55 each. At the same session Betsy Alexander reported that the share of her daughters Susan and Jane Alexander in the rent of land was $5 for each.

Guardian Bond, 28 April 1837 - Silas Orr was appointed guardian of the estate of Susan C. Miller & Sarah J. N. Alexander, Orphans of John G. Alexander, Decd., bound in the sum of $250 to the State of NC and secured by Dan Alexander. Wit. by B. Oates, CCC.
