Notes for David Leander Love

David Love enlisted in the Army of the Confederacy at age 19 in Mecklenburg County on July 7, 1862. He served in Company F, 5th Cavalry Regiment North Carolina. He was present or accounted for through December 1864.

In 1870, David Leander Love and his wife Sarah "Sallie" Campbell Love are enumerated in the household of his father, John Scott Love. In the census of 1870, John's middle initial is given as "D." Also in the home is brother James Love and aunt Sarah D. Love.
