Norman Ferguson's first wife, Catherine died, leaving him with four small children. "A family story is that Norman gave this situation prayerful consideration. He then went to the home of Catherine's first cousin, Ann Campbell (called 'Nancy.') She was, at about 35 years of age, considered an 'old maid.' But Norman spoke out, saying, 'The Lord has sent me to get a wife.' And Nancy's answer was, 'The Lord's will be done.'"
