Notes for Celia Howell

"Celia married Francis Smart of Boston, Massachusetts. I do not know how many children they had, but a son or grandson was the minister who married Sarah [Perry] - his name is Francis Fogwell Smart and he lives at White Stone, Virginia - he is a retired (quite a few years ago) Navy chaplain. His wife's name is Virginia Carey and she was from Alexandria, Virginia. They met when he was in seminary. They have two sons. One lives in D. C. and the other in Richmond. There was one other son, shown in the picture, who may have been Frank's father rather than a brother."

The 1900 census indicated that Celia Howell Smart had given birth to 3 children, and 2 were living.
