P. 62 - Died at his residence in Bladen Co., on Friday evening, Mr. Peter Cromartie in the 77th year of his age. He was a member of the South River Presbyterian Church & ordained an Elder on November 9, 1834, by Rev. William Brobston and occupied at this position until his death. His wife that shared his joys and divided his sorrows through a long life preceeded him to the grave only a few weeks.

In Bladen Co. on 13 March, Peter Cromartie, age 77 yrs.; elder South River Church. His wife died few weeks earlier; leaves children.
