ILLNESS FATAL TO MR. JOY
Funeral Services to be Held at Funeral Chapel Here Tomorrow Morning
James A. Joy of 126 West Boulevard died at his home yesterday
morning after a year’s declining health.
Born in Gaston county December 23, 1896, he was the son of the late
Sidney A. and Emma Jay [sic] Joy. He was a contractor and had lived in
Charlotte for 25 years.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Christine L. Joy; a daughter, Miss E.
June Joy; two brothers, O. F. and Lloyd A. Joy of Mecklenburg county;
three sisters, Mrs. A. C. Fisher of Charlotte, Mrs. H. F. Bost of Belmont
and Mrs. S. A. Abernathy, both of Belmont; and a number of nieces and
nephews.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 11 A.M. at
Hankins-Whittington Funeral home. Interment will be in Elmwood
cemetery. Rev. T. H. Biles of Berryhill Baptist church and Rev. William
Harris Blair of Chalmers A. R. P. church will officiate. Nephews will be
