L.A. Reunion, May 27,2000

The reunion last Saturday was really a blast ! If my memory does not fail me, a total of 21 attendees from our batch attended the much awaited affair.

I would like to congratulate and thank Gene Lagdameo, Noel Martinez and Mars for a splendid preparation ! Thanks also to Dennis Filoteo and Jim Valena for the pictorials. Probably you already have noticed that Jim Valena have published some 'samples' of the pics on the net.

Super 'Bongga' talaga yun preparation ! There were lots of food, drinks, wine, non stop music and dancing ! Gene converted his huge garage into a state-of-the-art disco center. It is equipped with the proper acoustics, bose speakers, strobe lights and mirrors. What else would you ask for ?

I also would like to thank Kitty and Gene for the souvenirs. Each received a cute Koala from Kitty, and an aromatic sensuous candle from Gene.

Lastly, thank you to those who came from the far flung areas of the globe -- You really made this reunion very meaningful. Kitty (from Australia), Chiqui (from Hawaii), Lina and Kendee (from Canada), Malou (from Seattle), Vix & Luis (from Chicago), Boots (from Michigan), Richie, Julie, Dennis , Alex, & Lani (from Northern California). Salamat din sa mga 'Los Angelenos' -- Mars, Gene, Noel, Jim, Grace and Joey.

I bid 'adieu' to the group around 11:30 pm 'cuz my 5 month old baby was sleepy and tired. I was almost tempted to tell my wife to drive home the baby and I will stay with the gang for the rest of the evening. Kaya lang, baka hindi na ako patuluyin sa bahay namin. hehehehe.

Noel, Boots, .... so what happened after I left ? Did you have the 'truth or consequence' part ?

For me and my wife, we really enjoyed the evening ! It was an event I will never forget. Maraming maraming salamat sa inyong pag dalo !

PS. Boots, Lina, Noel or anyone .... please share your own version or the 'blow-by-blow' account of the party.

I'm back to reality after a very short but memorable trip from Fantasy Island.

Gabby, buti naman nagreport ka kaagad at ikaw ang unang nag-exit sa eksena! I think you were just avoiding the truth or consequence session kaya umalis ka nang maaga.....ayaw mong magpa-buking!!! hehehe...kidding aside, it was good to see you and your family. Your baby is so cute and cuddly...ang bait pa....buti na lang nagmana kay Mrs. Thank you for being there and for your support in making the reunion a fun and memorable gimmick (as Boots would say).

Anyway, those (including me, ako, I and myself) you left behind (pa-guilty ba?) danced all through the night and chit-chatted till two-ish or three-ish (can't remember exactly at lasing na kaming lahat sa antok) in the morning. Biglang nawala si Mars kaya hinintay naming makabalik. We had a riot taking turns washing the dishes. Hindi na namin pinatulong si Lani at baka kung ano pa ang mabasag sa bahay ni Gene at Ruben!!....another contribution na naman kung nagkataon.

Lani, biro lang...alam mo namang lab na lab kita!! Naglaba ka na ba? (hehehe).....luv u babe!!

Although I'm dying to say a line or two about everyone who participated in the reunion, I only have time to concentrate on our LA hosts kung hindi..baka ma-fire out na ako dito sa trabaho ko....at saka "space is not enough" hehehe...remember this phrase, folks? Gabby, inuna na kita, ha?

Gene, what can I say.....you have a beautiful home..... not only does it reflect your exquisite taste, as one can easily see, but it also emanates the warmth and love that you share with those around you, as one can easily feel. Thank you so much for sharing your lovely home with us. It was truly a great pleasure (sipsip!......enough already!!!) Next time, isama mo nga ako sa Golden Globe awards night para maka-prospek naman ako....remember my list of requirements...Boots, wanna join?

Ruben, thank you for sharing your wonderful home as well and also for taking the time to chit chat about your memorable adventures in Montreal. You're hilarious...not to mention gorgeous (sipsip na naman....sabi nang enough already, ano?) Give me a ring next time you come to Cda for a visit....maybe I can tag along with you guys to Montreal to have some tasty meatballs for lunch or dinner (hahaha)!!

Noel, may tinatago ka rin palang talent sa dancing, ha? Thank you for joining us at the Jeepney Grill for lunch (kahit na hindi ka naman kumain....puro tikim lang) on Friday even on such a hectic schedule. Never a dull moment ka rin, ano? Nagtayo ka rin ba na limo service co. tulad ng advice ko kay Mars? Also, huwag mo nang awayin si Alex....pareho rin naman ang resulta kahit na masaya o galit siya...so, don't waste your time. Alex, I can just see your face....hehehe...biro lang, ha...lab u 2! On a bit of a serious note......Noel, on behalf of the other guests/visitors/aliens, thank you for taking your time in helping coordinate the "sundo-hatid" blues and also in contributing tremendously to the success of our reunion.

Mars, my buddy, babe!!!.....magsasawa ka sa akin ngayon...yaiikssss you say? You'll say a lot worse than that by the time I really get going (hehehe). I can't thank you and of course Monetski (panggaaaaaaa!!!!) enough for your hospitality and generosity (although you had no choice but to entertain and accommodate us). Sabi na sa inyo magtayo kayo ng limo service....kita mo mars...nag-rent-a-car ka pa tuloy!! Pangga, ginawa mo na ba yong sinabi ko sa 'yo (in my previous email) kung ayaw pang matulog ni Mars? Dalian mo na at baka makatakas!! Nasaan na ba kayo...I've been trying to get in touch with you guys at walang sumasagot ng phone. Baka naman nagtatago na kayo - hehehe...I don't blame you. Gusto ko nga rin pagtaguan ang sarili ko kung puwede lang, kaya lang parating nakasunod sa akin. Buti pa kung "split" personality...madali (mais con hielo!!) Anyway, will try to call you folks tonight.

Grace, Thanks for your tip about the ube cake....nakalimutan ko na ang recipe pero t.y. pa rin. I guess you have your hands full with three kids....este, two kids and a hubby, with one on its merry way. Pasensiya ka na nung ni-raid ka namin ha? Napaluto ka tuloy ng extra ube cake. Ang tutuo niyan, hindi na dapat susunduin si Lani. Kaya lang, naaawa kami sa iyo at baka mapa-anak ka nang maaga kung hindi namin kukunin kaagad. Another thing, magkakasakit ka sa bato at may crazy glue yan sa posterior.

Lastly but certainly not the least, I think Boots deserves to be acknowledged as well. As a "global coordinator" (another title na naman) she ensured that everyone "enlisted" were able to show up....by hook or by crook!! She was and has always been there to keep the ball rolling.....talk about persistence and stamina!! We love you Boots for being there for us and for all the countless tasks that you have done for the group. As Noel mentioned in our mini meeting...you are the "driving force".

As for the rest who participated in the reunion in person or in spirit....thanks a million for such a wonderful, stupendous beautiful, etc. etc. time!!! Till next issue....gotta go back to work now.

Just like everyone, I am back to reality after having a great time in LA with everyone. I am really glad I decided to fly in for the reunion. It was one of the most enjoyable get together I have ever been in a very long time. In fact, it was so good, it took us a long time (around 4:00 in the morning) before we left. Finally, naawa na kami sa mga hosts namin, so we decided to call it a day.

Grace - Thank you very much for all your efforts, especially picking me up from the hotel and getting to Gene's house. You have such a wonderful family and my best wishes to you on the rest of your pregnancy. Buti na lang, hindi ka napaanak sa gulo. I also enjoyed your famous ube cake and I'll make sure I am back for more, including the Mango Cake you were describing.

Gene & Ruben - Thank you for sharing your home with all of us. You have such a wonderful home and garden, of course!! You were the perfect hosts, complete with great food, drinks, dancing and just pure entertainment.

Mars - I hope you are now finally able to get some sleep and rest from everyone. Hats off to you on how you were able to host 8 (?) people in your home. Of course, the fact that they were from our batch makes it even more challenging (just kidding!!!). Tell Monet, I really enjoyed those drinks ...

Noel/Boots - A big thanks to both of you for coordinating the reunion attendance. Noel, I am sure your coordinating prowess was put to the test - at least you maintained your sanity through all this or did you? (hehehe...biro lang). Boots, I agree with your new title of 'Global Coordinator' - bilib talaga ako sa persuasive powers mo. Tirso - there's your tip for increasing attendance for the December reunion - magaling talagang mangumbinse si Reina.

And to everyone else - Kitty, Lani, Kandee, Chiqui, Luis, Alex, Malou, Jim, Lina, Julie, Richie, Joey, Dennis, Gabby - it was so nice to see you all again. For a moment in time, it almost felt like we were back in high school again - especially with our rendition of the PCS Alma Mater song. Anyway, I hope to see you all again.

I hope we continue this tradition...Next stop - Chicago (???) OKAY!
