Untitled - April 1, 2002
When words are not enough,
and speech is too fragile,
grasping for meaning
from the thought
of empty promises
makes everything run together
into a morass of confusion
and utter silence.
Open mouthed
but voiceless,
open to all the things
visceral to our living,
thinking of what might have been,
looking at what could be.
This contradiction
in living and hoping
leaves too many questions
unanswered,
words meant for the ears
of another
remain unspoken.
