Untitled - June 24, 2002

The air is thick with anticipation
as a breath hitches
in a moment of shared solitude;
held until it becomes
a slow hiss of pleasure.

In the distance,
a low rumble of thunder
rolling in from the ocean centre;
as it nears,
the electricity of the moment
seems to be transferred
directly to fingertips
found hovering,
just above.

A flash of lightning
arches from the sky,
eerily reflected
in the piercing need
that leaves everything jagged.

As the sudden storm recedes,
a lingering cascade of tears
is wiped away,
as the simple smile seen
seems to be a path
drawn to forever.
