Untitled - September 04, 2004
As dusk descends
and darkness creeps into the air,
the haze of sunlight
gives way to sparkling night lights
and the moonshine of yesteryear.
It's a moment of playfulness
that lends the means to ride the Wheel,
watching the stars peer from the past
into a future that remains beyond the pale.
Cradled in a late summer breeze
that envelopes the moment,
forgetting the crowds that gather below
everything is focused in the now.
It's not the first time on the Wheel
nor the last time to look at the stars,
it's not the one time to rock in the wind,
nor the last time to give into
the urgings of the night.
