Outside My Window - version .01 - Spring

The bare skeletal branches of Winter
are no more.

My trees are lush, verdant.
Emerald, lime, jade, apple,
moss, kelly, sea, pine -
greens of infinite number
bejewel them.
They are garlanded,
their leaves thrusting, tangling
struggling towards the weak Spring sun,
sparkling with color;
abundant, renewed.

My view changes with the seasons;
my trees are alive again.

Untitled - May 23, 2005

It's a yellow dusting
of pistils and stamens
falling over each other
in a tumble
against the spring breeze.

It's a green sensation
that wafts and swirls
like the gossamer touch
just beyond the veil.

It's the red lushness
of two petals
rubbing against each other
only to reveal
an angry pink
centered by a violent orange.

The season steps back
to reveal the shifting landscapes
coursing with spring rains
and muddied waters.
