| (Christie’s View) I sat trying to figure out how to get inside to Howie. He was inside the one place I hated I. Lab. Soon I heard an explosion from inside. My body jumped & fear slipped through my body. I hope Howie is all right. (Howie’s View) I woke up. The building was full of chaos. Sharp pains filled my body, but I ignored them. Dr. Newman came running in & transferred me to a wheelchair. I started to fall asleep, but an explosion knocked me from my chair. Snapping noises were heard and even sharper pains filled my body. I couldn’t feel my legs. The pains were so hurtful that I slipped into the world of dreams. (Christie’s View) I saw Dr. Newman carry someone in his arms. It was Howie. I ran over & had a fight with Dr. Newman . I won! I reached over & caressed Howie’s face. His eyes opened slowly. He looked so weak. His eyes closed once more. Firemen, police, & ambulances showed up at the scene. Howie was taken to the hospital & rode in the ambulance behind his. I had a few bruises, but nothing more. I later found out that Howie would never walk again. He was very upset & cried. I did too. Right then and there Howie asked me to marry him even though he didn’t have a ring. I accepted knowing I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him after all we had been through. We admitted that we loved each other & we made some very important commitments on that day. |
