RICK STEVES.COM - yes
this man has it all. he is flamboyant and does not hesitate to
give approximate costs unlike many other sites. you can get a
pretty comprehensive idea about the travelling scene in europe
from this site. his
travel links are also excellent (tho used,
at times,
for furthering his commercial interests) his guidebooks are well
respected. but bear in mind that his information is for the
average american joe. |

LONELYPLANET - very
basic information on their website (who'll buy their guides
otherwise???), but a lot of information to
be gathered from the discussion boards. in fact, probably the
most effective travelers discussion board on the net. |

they are supposed to be able of find you the cheapest airfare.
they are most effective for finding the cheapest car hire.
searching some twenty car companies using a very very effective
interface. |

CAR - this place has a message board where you can post if
you have a free seat in your car or would wish to take a lift.
again a very effective interface which can pair you up with
people who are going your way and would like to either share
costs or have company. |

of information on there. but their servers are slow, hence
sometimes ineffective. |

points in europe. this site will give you an insight into how it
works out so cheap, it also lists all the airlines giving this
