Sincere Love

  Love is the reason for our existence!!  We were born because of Love, we exist because of Love, we are forgiven because of Love, and we have eternal life because of Love.  "God is Love!"  Love is an emotion with truly immeasurable power, that can move the universe.

  It’s difficult to explain Love.  Love cannot be defined with words, it is a light that shines within you, it is a feeling felt within your heart, it’s joy, it’s peace, it’s harmony, it’s everything that is good.  It is the Holy Spirit acting within you.  When you treat somebody with fondness and affection a smile appears on your face and you feel good, that’s Love.  When you look at another person with tenderness and your words are simple and sweet, that’s Love.  When you stretch out you hand to help another person and automatically happiness is felt in your heart, that’s Love.  Love is completely unselfish, it just gives, its just there, it is the Spirit of God manafestating itself within you through forgiveness, charity, and selfless sacrifice towards everyone.  Through the influence of the spiritual being within you, believe in Love and kindness.  Then think and do Love and kindness and feel Love.

  Jesus Said:  “Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.  If someone strikes you on one cheek, turn to him the other also.  If someone takes your coat, do not stop him but offer him your shirt also.  Give to EVERYONE who asks of you and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back.  Do to others as you would have them do to you. 
  If you Love those who Love you what credit is that to you?  Even sinners Love those who Love them.  And if you do good only to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you?  Even sinners do that.  And if you lend only to those whom you expect repayment, what credit is that to you?  Even sinners lend to sinners, expecting to be repaid in full.
  Love your enemies, do good to them and lend to them without expecting to get anything back.  Then your reward will be great, and you will be truly sons of the Most High, because He is kind to the ungrateful and wicked.  Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.

  In this world we all need one another, no one is extra and no one is missing.  All lives are necessary for the complement and harmony of our existence.  The poor need from the rich and the rich need from the poor.  The sinful need from the righteous and the righteous need to save the sinners.  The ignorant need from the wise and those who have knowledge need to teach the ignorant.  Our children need from the adults and these in turn, need from the children.  Harmony and balance.  In this world each one of us is situated in his place by the wisdom of God.  It’s not an accident that you are where you are, doing what you are doing and near whom you should be.  Therefore each situation we encounter will teach us Love.  GOD IS LOVE.  In some situations we will receive sorrow which will purify us.  Some will cause us to suffer because we need it, while in others we will be given Love to compensate for our bitterness, but in all of these situations there is a message for us, a teaching, which we should pray to understand and learn from.

  Jesus said:  “Blessed are you who are poor, for your is the Kingdom of God.  Blessed are you who hunger now, for you will be satisfied.  Blessed are you who weep now, for you will laugh.  Blessed are you when men hate you, and insult you and reject your name as evil, because of the Son of Man.  Rejoice in that day and leap for joy, because great is your reward in heaven.”

  Seek in each of your brethren the good side that he presents, in order to learn from him, as well as his bad side so that you will help him to elevate himself to his true destiny, and in that manner, proceed along the pathway to the destiny God has in store for both of you.  Within each human being you meet there is a lesson of Love or lack of Love, which will finally give you its pleasant or bitter truth.  In this way you will proceed from lesson to lesson, sometimes learning , sometimes teaching, but in all situations your will be delivering or receiving the message of Love.

  Don’t neglect your fellowman that destiny has placed along your path.  If you close the door to your heart you will be unaware of the lesson that they have brought to you.  How many times have you cast aside the very one who may have brought you the message of peace and hope that your spirit needed.  Life has unexpected changes and surprises, and what will you do if tomorrow you anxiously seek the one whom you rejected today?  Let those who has fallen into the mire of vice come to you, and if you are able to move their heart, they will repent.  Let the ragged and dirty feel worthy of being in your home and at your table.  Don’t let their appearance scare you.  Don’t let your eyes contemplate those external differences.  Perhaps spiritually they may be more cleansed and enriched then you are, and you will be able to learn something from them.  Share the benefits of your gifts among everyone equally.  Suffering is everywhere.  Imagine how much good can you do if you just open your heart to the Love of the Holy Spirit.

  That troubled person who today needs your help may be the person who tomorrow, moved by your charity is converted to be a laborer of God and be the very one who helps you.  How many of those who come asking for a little Love and understanding today, will tomorrow be the shield that will defend you or the witness that will save you.  But, what can you expect of the one who knocked at your door, with all their pain and hope, relying on your charity, but was not heard?

  Every man and women at birth is endowed within his spirit, a freedom of will and a conscience, along with certain talents and virtues that he can make use of and develop over time.  At the same time that the flesh, the mind, our talents and our virtues develop, human desires and bad inclinations develop.  These bad inclinations and human desires battle against our virtues.  God permits this because where there is no struggle, there are no lessons learned, and this is what we need in order to ascend along our spiritual path.  What would you learn if your life was not filled with trials and tribulations, sorrow and pain?  What would you learn if your life was filled with riches and comfort?  Would you expect spiritual progress?

  Progress can not happen without a struggle, and an effort to overpower our weaknesses and passions.  These lessons are allowed by God in order to allow us to learn to dominate our bad inclinations like selfishness and materialism, and in order for our spirit to take it’s rightful place and find the true path of spiritual fulfillment, guided by the Holy Spirit.  During these times of struggle we must pray and meditate that we will learn charity, compassion, sensitivity and Love for our fellowman, to the point of sacrificing ourselves to spare them harm or free them from their ordeal.  Remember although the body is wasting away, we are responsible for our actions while in it.  It is written that obedience comes from faith, that the righteous will live by faith and that faith can move mountains.  Have faith in God.  He is our Father, He knows what is best for us.   Do not weaken before the struggle, nor despair when you don’t see results for your efforts.  Understand that our mission is to struggle to the end.  Tomorrow’s will come and others will take our place and continue our work.  They will continue His Work one step further, and thus, from generation to generation, our Master’s Word will be fulfilled.  Treat your fellowman as true brethren so that you will truly forget the differences of race and creed.  Erase from your heart all traces of bitterness and hostility towards those who have offended you.  In the end, all branches will unite with the tree.  All nations will unite as one people, and peace and harmony will reign on earth.
