NEW WEBSITE, NEW
CD!!!!
the more observent
amongst you may well have noticed the new site. its pretty much there, a few
bits need to be sorted but here it is. let us know what you think. our first
few gigs of the year went really well and we have some really exciting shows
coming up so keep checking the shows
page. the new cd
is done and will be sold at our upcoming shows and can be ordered via the site,
give us an e-mail and we'll see what we can do. its gunna be about £2.50,
a lot cheaper because we pretty much recorded it all at home, we're really proud
of it and feel it captures us a lot better than the last one, tracks featured
are, 'bring me down', 'kind of day', 'feather duster' and a live version of
'janders'.the old one is still available, just e-mail
us about it, we're selling the two cds together for a special price of £5!
in other news we're in talks about trying to sort out a mini tour, playing shows
and supporting bands down south in easter, so keep em peeled. hope to see you
all soon, its been too long, peat xx

Shamone mutha fucka.
wassup whi choo foo? The Peat would like to take this opportunity to wish each
and everyone of you lovely people a very merry christmas. Merry Christmas. Our
last show of 2002, will round off a skavoovey year for the band and will be
held on sunday the 22nd at Edwards No.8 in B'ham, supporting the almighty Captain
Everything. It's gunna be an Xmas Xtravaganza, so be there early to catch all
the bands. The 'meet the band' section has been updated to include a very special
band member who, in just a short period of time has become very dear to our
hearts, as we nearly lost him a few weeks ago- he was sick in a saucepan. its
good to have you back man. New photos, new site, new songs all coming in 2003.
See you all on sunday, have a great christmas and have one for us, Peat
21/11/02
hey all. its been
a busy month, well for us anyway, but it has all been worth it. we've played
with some amazing bands like Farse, Adequate 7 and the incredible Fishbone.
We are now taking a few weeks out from playing to really concentrate on getting
some new material written and finishing off our CD. All being well we should
have some rude new songs in our set for the next time we play. Keep checkin
the gig page for shows, so far we are playing with 4ft fingers on 7th Dec and
Lubby Nugget on the 18th Dec. We are working on a new website aswell, exciting
times people, exciting times. Hope to see you all soon, peat.
11/11/02
OK people. Here
is the flyer for the FISHBONE show. If you are going next week please click
on the link below, pint out the flyer and hand it in on the door. We get credit
for those that are handed in. Much appreciated.
FISHBONE FLYER
02/11/02
This is a plea on
behalf of Peat Bog Man. Firstly if you want to go to the FARSE show next week
please email us and we can sort you out with tickets. They are five pounds each.
By buying through us you can avoid the booking fees that Midland Box Office
may charge you.
Email us for your
FARSE tickets
Secondly, if you
want to go to the FISHBONE show the week after please check back to the site
because we are going to upload the flyer for the gig. For every flyer handed
in on the door we get some money (which unfortunately we need to pay our debts
- boo.) So please check back and download the flyer when we post it. Cheers
people.
22/10/02
Well its taken us
9 months but as said, back in our second ever posting, we have finally blagged
not one, oh no, but two support slots with local heroes Farse. Not only that,
oh dear God no, but we are finally playing at proper show at the Rock Cafe and
not a Jam night. Wu hooo! Tickets for the Farse show in Wolverhampton and the
Fishbone show in Birmingham are availiable from such sites as Ticketweb.co.uk
and aloud.com. Yes that is Fishbone. The very same californian ska/funk rude
dudes who toured with the Chili Peppers and featured on the Mother's Milk album
(RHCP) and Hang-Ups (Goldfinger.)
20/09/02
The
gig with Five Knuckle went really well and there's more to come. We are finalising
arrangements for our next CD and adding several new songs to our set for the
Adequate 7 gig. Don't miss it!!
08/10/02
Wow!
A lot has happened in the last month. We have a stack of new gigs, we are practicing
with a new band member and we are making preparations for our next CD. This
will include some of our more recent songs and some that we have not played
live yet. It looks like the CD will be done by mid November provided all goes
well. Our mp3.com account is now up and running and so you can download some
of our tunes for a limited period of time only. www.mp3.com/peatbogman. Peace
and love.
08/08/02
In
two days time we play our first headlining show at Scruffy Murphy's in Birmingham.
This gig is listed in this weeks issue of Kerrang magazine and this weeks issue
of NME magazine. Nuff said.
20/07/02
Booay.
will bog man, the one true webmaster is back. Ive taken off the new mp3s so
apologies to any that get the chance to check em out but you were'nt missing
much. As soon as we can though we get some decent versions of the new stuff
up. Or alternatively you could come and see us live and see them first hand.
We have quite a few gigs comin up in Worcester and Birmingham so keep checkin
the gigs page. All that is left is for me to wish a good holiday to the many
bog men that are off on their hols. To Ian, George and Tom, bon voyage! and
check out the next few issues of big cheese magazine where will bog man is guest
contributor, with an interview with the Reel Big Fish, and our demo is to be
reviewed in there. Things definitely ain't lookin down brothers and sisters
of the bog! laters!
14/07/02
Greetings
all. There are three more mp3 files for you to download. They are live tracks
and are of a similar quality to the old ones. The songs are brand new and are
intended to give you a taster of what's to come. In a bit.
5/07/02
Well.
We played on the radio. It ruled. We were interviewed. That ruled (big chas
n dave to Totney Nation.) We played Edwards No. 8 (which ruled), sold a shit
load of CDs and got two more offers for gigs straight after (more info coming
shortly.) So all in all not bad at all.

Well,
we released our EP and sold a bundle. We know there are a few folks who want
to buy it from the site and we are sorting out a means of doing that in the
next few days. Thanks to everyone who checked us out at the crown, many for
the second time. Much appreciated. We took some great pictures that should be
up later today.
05/06/02
DUDE,
WHERE'S MY SKA? EP RELEASE DATE 8th JUNE
We've
just finished a ten hour studio session and recorded four tracks. We are very
pleased with the results although the final mix down and mastering will take
place in the next few days. The EP will be availiable at our next gig (8th June
at the Crown in Worcester) for the mere sum of four English pounds. Hope you
buy it and enjoy. If anyone wants to order the EP via the internet please contact
us and we will email you the relevant details. Hope to see you on saturday!
01/06/02
Today
we finalised the graphics and photos for the sleeve of our self-released EP,
'Dude! Where's My Ska?' We are recording in two days time and we are well up
for it. Other details about the CD are not certain yet but we'll post the details
as soon as we know. The EP should be availiable by our Saturday (8th) gig at
the Crown in Worcester. If anyone is interested in buying one just contact us
and we will get back to you with the details. If you can't wait for the EP check
out our sounds page. There should be more than enough to wet your appetites!
Watch this space!
21/05/02
Three
more tracks have been uploaded so check them out. We've also fixed the bugs
that stopped you from listening to the files before. The photos section should
now be totally up and running and our pictures from the robin 2 gig are up now.
Stay posted cos we are going to take some rude pics at the crown.
14/05/02
We
have decided to put our live demo cd up online for all of you to download. The
first two tracks are uploaded now. The rest will be done at a later date. They
are much higher quality than our previous recording attempts so download them
and tell us what you think.
13/05/02
Just
a note people. Geocities is doing maintenance on its server and the site will
be down from friday 17th to sunday 19th. Sorry, this is out of our control.
11/05/02
Where
do we start? We played the robin 2 and it sucked. We recorded a live CD which
ruled. We sent off many many demos (and are starting to reap the benefits.)
And we are recording at a local studio in but a few weeks! Our demos are on
sale (if interested contact us) although we recommend holding out for our EP
which will be much much better. The last piece of good news is that we have
been booked to support Codlocker at Edward's No 8 in Birmingham. We are negotiating
several other gigs so watch this space.
26/04/02

Great
News All. We are now playing the Live Band Of the Year Competition at the Robin

01/04/02
Greetings
from the Peat. If you don't already know we are playing at the Rock Cafe 2000
in Stourbridge on the 15th of April. We have been working hard on our songs

soon. Things are looking hopeful for the June 3rd gig for the Queens Jubilee.
More info soon. Rock cafe gig pictures now up on the photos page. 2 MP3s availiable
for download on the sounds page.
Howdy

proud. Cheers for everyone who was there and danced and screamed and whatever
else you did that was of benefit to us. we are there again on MONDAY 15th APRIL,
thats the ROCK CAFE. Shall we run through that one more time; ROCK CAFE 2000,
15th APRIL. ok. The site has been updated in the way of a new photos page (photos
of our gig should be up soon when tom gets his ass into gear, preferably not
reverse, some sort of forward motion is required) and a snazzy new front page.

03/03/02
Hey
Hey Hey, just a little message to say: a) we are playing at the rock cafe in
stourbridge tomorrow so be there if you can and b)we apologise for the lack
of guestbog as the site that runs the guestbog and hit counter is down but hopefully
it will be up soon, just keep checkin back. ok, catch you all later.
18/02/02
Bo
Selecta me name is Peat Bog Man. How be all you? we hopefully are going to play
at the rock cafe in stourbridge soon perhaps in the next couple of weeks, so
reader beware your in for a skank! Watch this space for dates. Well not this
exact space, the gigs page is probably your best bet. We're gunna add some pictures
an stuff to the site to make it sweeter than it already is. Is that possible
I hear you cry, well my friends, yes it is. Our collection of songs is now almost
as big as will and tiger's hair put together as if we were creating some sort
of hair fiend to unleash on the streets of stourbridge. Yes we now have 7 songs.
Hooray for us!
01/02/02
First
of all a BIG Chas and Dave to everyone who came out to support the Peat on Tuesday.
Muchos Chasos y Davos. The gig ROCKED!! Secondly, very exciting news came in
the way of an e-mail to Ian Bog Man straight from Gainsville's very own The
Busdrivers saying they are hopefully coming to the UK to tour and would like
the Peat to support them. WOW!
Keep
checking the site for news as we hope to start doin a few shows a bit further
afield. And we are going to try to record some stuff, for your ears only!
P.S
if you visit the site please leave a message on the Guest Bog just so we know
who is interested, in years to come you could say you were there when it all
started. Back in the day. Those were the days, ahh i remember them well, sitting
on the porch with a glass of port with my old chum Jeeves, talking of many things
such as the state of monarchy, nuclear disarmament and if tupac is actually
dead. yes those were the days. Erm sorry, in my own little world there, anyway
that would be much appreciated.
09/01/02
