the only things different about "when love is inside you" is that last time he put the key in his krotch. but that made it confusing about whether or not he got the key. and they spend less time in front of the mirror.

the conversation between sarah and alfred in her dressing room was a little different. i don't remember her going on so much about how she was being saved. he used to say, oh, so adorably "you would give yourself to him?"

at the ball, alfred and abronsius join the dance and abronsius realizes he lost his cross, alfred's like "i gave you my cross" so they use the candles, cause they lost their own crosses. also, abronsius didn't say so directly, that they would kill her if he bites her.

now, the finale. last time abronsius was there the whole time, oblivious.

OMIGOD, alfred offered himself to her! sort of. (BTWA reprise)  i think they should go all the way with that though, 'cause we already know that his only other option is to die. he chooses a damned eternity with her as a opposed to living with out her. "if i gotta be damned, you know i wanna be damned dancing through the night with you!"  i lost it when he pulled his hair back! that's beautiful!

before he was holding her in his arms and she suddenly bites him, her legs flailing, abronsius still oblivious. and you have no clue what happens to abronsius. you still don't, but it's not as bad as before.

and they weren't wearing trenchcoats last time. they all had much more elaborate costumes. that really fast full ensemble costume change mighta been too much. and you just plain can't recognize the characters anymore unless you're sitting close enough.

and ofcourse, the back drop wasn't there before. it was just black, i think.

so, that's that. back to homework.

i just wanna say, it was SOOOO MUCH FUN meeting all of you! if any of you are in ny again, come say hi. if not, see you at Batman!

     ciao, all!

After seeing the November 19th, 2002 performance:

HALLELUIA! THEY  FIXED INVITATION TO THE BALL!

janine told you all that they added the new song for that scene and cut the others.  i swear, they needed one of those cameras like they have on rollercoasters to catch my facial expression right at that moment.

crawford comes in and first thing we noticed was that the dialog was different. Janine and i were looking at eachother like what's going on. i wasn't in any way hoping for an improved number at this point because the dialog is all about sarah being a princess and he wants to make her his queen. he calls her principessa, which when he make reference to his italian side only ever inspires my eyes to roll. then they stand on the platform that they stood on for "sometimes we need the boogie man" and we're like, what's going on? then the "original sin" music started! I FLIPPED OUT! though still not really believing that this was really happening. then crawford starts to sing "you can choose to stay here to be a housewife some find day..."

OMIGOD! janine was like,  em, it's okay.

they use the same melodies. they start with that original sin bit, then there's the quiet transition to the chorus, then they did the "sometimes you need the boogie man" music with different lyrics. i wish i could remember them for you all. maybe next time :-)  then they go back to "a good nightmare comes so rarely"

it took a good amount of effort to delay my screaming until it was finished!

janine and i were like hugging after. i cannot express the thrill and the gratitude of that moment! omigod!  they just need to polish the dialog in that scene. i want jim to keep tinkering, just goes he does that really well.  just when you think it can't get any better, it always does. the transitions between melodic themes need to be played with more, cause at some points it felt kinda sudden. i felt like i was falling behind and needed catch, cause my emotions were still in the last theme.

i've never been happier at a show before in my life!  thank the gods
!

a couple of things that were different from a month ago that i forgot to say are:

Chagal's joke about alfred and sarah exchanging fluids was new.

they didn't go "Go Boris! Go Boris!" before

and "we've simply lost our minds" being repeated over and over was new.

the choreography during "tonight is what it means to be young" was different.

and when krolock pops up at the very end was new.

and on tuesday, other new things were:

a banner in the tavern that said "666th Annual Garlic Festival"
