Progress on the Sunroom

We are still waiting for two big pieces of glass to be installed in the sunroom before we can declare it complete. Right now there are pieces of stiff foam in place so the room can be more or less airtight. What is somewhat frustrating is that the bulk of the room was completed in mid-October. We waited and waited for the remaining pieces of glass, but every time we called to inquire, we were told, "it should be here in two weeks" or "it should be on the next truck." Finally I told the construction company that I was going to have a major birthday party for my son on November 17 and needed the two holes in the room sealed off before then so I could use the room. That got a little action. But we are still waiting for the glass.... Construction on the room started in early September, and the project was supposed to be completed in about three weeks. Obviously, that hasn't happened. The latest word is that the glass is expected around January 25. I'll believe it when I see it.

We haven't just been waiting around for the glass, though. We have removed all the siding from the area of wall that used to be on the outside of the house and put in wood paneling, installed a new door, and just this week got carpeting and blinds. It is really starting to look like a lovely room; we have even started to move in furniture. We were supposed to get a new window between the kitchen and the sunroom as well, but the one we ordered was damaged. We have ordered a replacement; let's see whether the window or those two pieces of glass come in first!
