Inter-Regionals
July 2001
Each year a different
region of the country hosts the Inter-regional championships and 2001 was the
Northern regions turn.
Originally the North was supposed to host the 2000 Inter-regional championships
but unfortunately the petrol strike of that year led to the cancellation of
the competition.
Pennine is one of the few clubs in the Northern region and so was very involved
in organising the competition.
The 2001 Inter-regionals
were incredibly successful for the North in terms of both competing in and organising
the competition.
Members of Pennine gave superb performances for the North and the region won
the Primary Junior, Junior and Open divisions as well as the overall points
award.
Individual
players won further awards with a total of four Best Number 1 awards, two Best
Number 2 awards and two Best Number 3 awards. To top it all off, Pennine horses
also won the Best Horse in the Open division (Keith Masons Chill) and
Best Junior Pony (Nerys Crosss Destiny).
