National Championships – September 2001

Despite generally having a successful season, the National Championships at Liscombe Park were a bit of a disappointment for Pennine. We only managed to win the B Grade competition during the tournament which marked the culmination of the foot and mouth affected 2001 season.

Our B Grade section joined forces with a Celyn senior section to produce a fantastic combination and a nail-biting final before we came away with the trophy.

However, our other teams all gave brilliant performances.

Although we had not been as successful as we had hoped to be, wonderful weather and excellent competition produced a thoroughly enjoyable weekend both for players and spectators. The big screen showing of the England v Germany football match was also a perfect addition to the polocrosse Nationals in many people’s eyes!!
