CROW EDGE CLEAR UP
Pennine members congregated
at out training ground, Crow Edge in Huddersfield for our annual clear-up day.
A regular New Years
Eve bonfire held at the ground by locals usually results in a number of nails
from burned pallets collecting on the ground. Such nails are dangerous to both
horses and their riders so club members meeting up to collect these is very
important to ensure our practices can go ahead safely.
Although it does
not sound like much fun it is a great chance for all the members and friends
to meet up, at least for a day away from work and studying! Inevitably players
benefit directly from the clear up because otherwise practices would not take
place.
Older members of the
club also marked out the pitch for the first time to ensure practices could
be as close to the real thing as possible. This is especially beneficial for
our line-up practicing as this is essentially where a game of polocrosse is
won and lost.
Well done to everyone who helped with the clearing up!
