Centaur
Tournament 18th/19th May 2002
One
of the first competitions of the season, Centaur are hoping for a more successful
year than the last one.
The Worcester, North Gloucester, Hereford and Malvern-based club struggled
for members last year but their current positive outlook provides a good base
for an enjoyable tournament.
Although
it is towards the beginning of the season and many players horses might
not be fully fit, Centaurs competition will be a good way to get back
into the polocrosse season. Players are also always very keen to get started
on the sport they have been missing so much over the winter.
It is the first tournament

Percy Hunt Tournament 18th/19th May 2002
Pennine
is looking forward to attending to enable us to put into practice what we
have learnt from our many training sessions and hopefully get the season off
to a good start.
Held on the same weekend as Centaurs tournament, Percy Hunts competition
is always guaranteed to be great fun. Although many people see Northumberland
as too far to travel for a polocrosse weekend, Pennine regularly attend with
many of our members training less-experienced players.
This
Pony Club tournament usually focuses on training new players and even regular
players, culminating in a competition on the Sunday. Everyone always enjoys
themselves in the relaxed, fun atmosphere of the weekend especially on the
Saturday night after a few drinks.
The future of the sport is dependent upon attracting new young players so
this weekend is very beneficial and highly entertaining.
