PREPARATIONS FOR THE COMING SEASON ARE UNDERWAY
Following the long, cold winter months, Pennine are keen for the 2003 polocrosse season to get started. However, without the last few months away from polocrosse, we would have been unable to have held the fundraising events necessary to enable Pennine to keep going. Members rallied together to make our December Auction the most successful yet, providing lots, donating their time and effort and therefore creating an already successful start to the year.
So it is following this that Pennine have begun our playing preparations for the forthcoming season by holding a number of mounted and unmounted practices for our members.
The dates for mounted practices, held at the Northern Racing College in Doncaster from 10am to 4pm are -
February -
2nd and 16th.
March - 2nd and 23rd.
April - 6th.
The dates for on-foot practices, held at Penistone Sports Centre from 2pm to 3pm are -
February -
2nd and 16th.
March - 2nd and 23rd.
April - 6th.
The practices are always great fun and an excellent way to begin preparing for the ever-nearing season of 2003. Everyone worries about the fitness of their horses but mounted practices will be done according to how fit the horses of the members in attendance are, so don't worry too much.
However, members should not only be concerned about their horses' fitness, but also their own as this also plays a part in your performance on the polocrosse pitch. Just as mounted practices are good for getting the horses prepared for the forthcoming season, on-foot practices are the perfect way to get yourselves ready too, to make sure you can give your best when representing Pennine at future competitions. So, it would be great to see as many members as possible at practices, and remember to enjoy yourselves!!
