One of our members celebrated her 21st birthday in style recently with a wonderful Wild West themed fancy dress party.

Rachel Johnson and her family put a lot of thought and effort into the bash (Rachel even made some cacti!) and everyone who attended thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

The party took place in a huge marquee outside the Johnsons' house and waitresses carrying trays of glasses champagne welcomed guests. Some fantastic outfits were on show, ranging from cowboys and Indians to madams and riverboat gamblers, Mike Goodfellow's was a particularly impressive costume as he had even grown and dyed his own moustache - 10 out of 10 for effort there!!!

100 guests were seated in the marquee for a three-course meal, which also followed the theme, and all the drinks were on the house - yey!! I think it was the free alcohol that helped to convince people to later have a go on the bucking bull in the corner of the marquee and some impressive performances were given, as can be seen from the photos!!

Alex and Rachel gave lovely speeches before some funky shapes were enthusiastically thrown to some excellent cheesy tunes on the dance floor, not to mention the Full Monty show that was put on by some of the men!!!. Later the barbeque was lit and bacon sandwiches were expertly made by Alex to satisfy some very early morning munchies!

The party was brilliant and a great success so congratulations and thanks to the Johnson family for arranging a fantastic evening and a belated happy 21st birthday to Rachel from all of Pennine.
