Issues for Pennine Members to Bear in Mind
At tournaments will all players please make an effort to go and pay your entry fees. It really is very unfair that people have to come chasing you to get Pennine's entry paid. Hopefully you will understand that we only intend to hand out playing shirts to those who have paid.
All teams have to provide qualified umpires and suitable umpire horses. The club has decided that it will continue the practice of charging all players £5 per tournament if they do not provide a horse. This money is used to pay the entry of the team player who does. If you want to provide the horse then let Dawn Goodfellow as team manager know. Some players did not come with the correct money last year or objected to this procedure. Please make sure that this is now understood.
If you want to play at a tournament members must let the team manager know by the Tuesday of the week before the week leading up to the tournament (i.e. 12 days before the tournament). This gives the elected selectors a chance to select the teams.
Please accept that the selectors have a difficult job. Obviously there will always be some disappointments in any selection process but please would everyone (especially parents!!) avoid the temptation to complain to selectors on matters of judgement as this really is not constructive. Please raise any procedural issues with Alex Johnson or the team manager. This year the senior team manager is Dawn Goodfellow and the junior team manager is Alison Wigglesworth.
