Palm Monday Sacrificial Breakfast

All women are invited to the PYUMC for this annual breakfast. This year the event is dedicated to the memory of Emily Seager, at whose initiative this community Sacrificial Breakfast was started a few years ago. Journey Through Holy Week
Maundy Thursday Service
Thursday, April 9 @ 6 pm
The service this year will be a dish to pass affair in commemoration of the Last Supper. Come join us as we conduct this ceremonial meal in memory of the Passion of Christ. In recognition of the Jewish tradition, please do not bring anything that contains yeast or pork products.

This service is a joint effort of FBC, PYUMC and Presbyterian Church. There will be special music and a short drama.

Italian Bread
The bread used in today's communion is prepared by Sean Ahearn.
(A few weeks ago we sent out an email to a few of the missionaries abroad asking for bread recipes from their region. Here you will find the recipe and comments from Jim & Debbie Kelsey who serve in Italy. See their mission info on the back of the bulletin.)
Dear FBC, This bread project is such a beautiful way to keep missions before your congregation! Personally, I steer clear of baking bread, as do most Italians these days. It is much easier to go to the local pasticceria and buy a loaf of bread. A typical white Italian bread is most common here. Happy baking e buon appetito!
2 cups lukewarm water 1 T dark brown sugar
1/3 cup cake yeast 2 T extra virgin olive oil
5 ¾ cups bread flour 1 T salt
1 egg white, lightly beaten
Place the water and yeast in the bowl of an electric mixer and allow the yeast ot bloom for about 5 min. Using a dough hook attachment, add the flour and sugar tot he water and mix on low speed until a dough starts to form. Drizzle the oil and salt into the dough and beat on medium speed for 8-10 min., or until a smooth, firm, elastic dough is formed. Transfer the dough to a lightly oiled bowl and spray with a thick coating of cooking spray. Wrap the bowl with plastic wrap and set aside to proof in a warm, draft-free place for 1 ½ hours or til double the size. Remove the plastic wrap, punch down and flatten the rounded dough with the heel of your hand. Roll the dough up tightly, sealing the seam well after each roll. The dough should be elongated and oval shaped, with tapered and rounded ends. Preheat the oven lined with a pizza stone to 425 degrees. Alternately, an inverted baking sheet may be used in place of a stone. Place the dough on a baker's peel heavily dusted with semolina flour, or cornmeal. Allow the dough to proof, loosely covered with a damp towel, for 30 minutes, or til double the size. Brush the dough with the egg white. Using a sharp knife, score 3 ¼ inch deep slashes across the top of the dough at a 45 degree angle. Spray the dough generously with water from a water bottle and place in the oven on the stone. Immediately close the oven and bake for 3 min. Open the oven door and spray the dough again with water. Close the oven door and bake for another 3 min before spraying the dough for a 3rd time. Bake for 45 min, or until a hollow thud is heard when the bread is whacked with the bowl of a wooden spoon. Allow the bread to cool slightly before serving.

Pennies From Heaven
I found a penny today, just laying on the ground.
But it's not just a penny, this little coin I've found.
Found pennies come from heaven, that's what my Grandpa told me. Grandpa said, angels always toss them down. Oh, how I love that story. He said when an angel misses you, they toss a penny down. Sometimes just to cheer you up. And make a smile out of your frown.
So don't just pass by that penny, when you're feeling blue. It may be a penny from heaven, that an angel tossed to you.
