Relay for Life Recruitment

It’s that time of year again, so get your walking shoes on! The relay will be held at the Firemen’s Field starting at 6 p.m. on Friday, June 6, and ending at 6 a.m. on Saturday, June 7. In case you are not familiar with the Relay for Life, it is a fundraising event to support cancer research, education and patient services. I know we have all had cancer touch our lives in one way or another and wish there was some way to fight it. This is one way to do just that and have fun at the same time. See Pam Scutt (536-2791) if you are interested in walking, sponsoring or to purchase a luminary in memory or in honor of a loved one.

 

Volunteer Needed

Cheryl Wood, a member of PYFBC needs a ride home from dialysis in Geneva on May 20, 27, 29, at 7:30 p.m. Please, call the church office at 536-9821 if you will be able to help her out. Cheryl would like to help with gas in exchange for a ride.

 

Blanket Sunday  

Sunday, May 11. We want to thank you in advance for putting your caring into action. Each blanket wrapped around the shoulders of a displaced family, each home rebuilt, each hoe placed in the hands of a farmer, each cup of clean water, is an expression of your love…and hope…for your local and global neighbors.

 

Blankets are supporting the efforts of overseas partner agencies as they reach out to the most vulnerable populations in their regions.

 

Here in the U.S., the victims of the many flooding emergencies and tornadoes of recent months have felt the warmth and comfort of a CWS blanket.
