Prepared to Care
Blankets + Offering – Next Sunday!
Most of carry a spare tire in our cars… just in case. Being prepared for the unexpected can make all the difference in an emergency. Church World Service has learned that lesson well over its more that 60 – year history of responding to disasters and other urgent humanitarian crises. Our Blankets+ offering will go to support the life-saving work of Church World Service here at home and around the world.
Often, the first thing CWS provides in an emergency is a blanket for warmth, comfort, and sometimes even shelter. But as needs change, other things are required – tents, food, water, and the tools and materials to rebuild. That’s why it’s called Blankets+!
When we see the results of a disaster, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed and powerless. But through Church World Service Blankets+, our contributions add up and enable CWS to respond effectively when people need help the most.
Enclosed in the May newsletter was the Church World Service envelope for Blanket Sunday. Please bring it back next Sunday as we collect this offering. Together, we can do a lot!
Mother’s Day Breakfast

Board of Missions
Reminder to all Bd. of Missions members: The May meeting date has been changed. The next meeting will be on Tuesday, May 26.
Undies Sunday
Again this year, your Mission Committee will be collecting undies and personal care items for the Cameron Community Center in Rochester. So… when you are out shopping remember this project. You can find bargains at one of our dollar stores here in Penn Yan. If traveling further afield, try Wal Mart, Target, or Kmart. Cameron is located in one of the poorer sections of Rochester. You will find a box for your donations at the front of the sanctuary. Let’s see what we can do!
