Prayer & Invocation (Praying the Scriptures)
Sometimes we fail to
see the wonders and joys you would give us, Lord, because we are dwelling on
the years and the opportunities which the locust have stolen. Show us your
power. Turn our eyes toward the cross and the resurrection. Bathe us in your
Holy Spirit so that our visions, our dreams, and our messages will be those
that flow from your heart. We pray this prayer in the name of our Lord Jesus
Christ. Amen.

Church World Service Blanket
Sunday
Together,
we are agents of hope to those who suffer from the disasters that we see in the
news and those crushed by the silent tsunamis of hunger, poverty, and disease,
which may not make the evening news, but shatter lives as surely as a tidal
wave.
TOOLS & BLANKETS is a
special mission opportunity. Some 8,000 congregations and groups across the
U.S. hold TOOLS & BLANKETS offerings providing resources to help people in
some 80 nations.
Your gift
can provide blankets, tents and other emergency shelter items in the wake of a
disaster. Refugees returning home can be helped with tools to rebuild and seeds
to replant fields. Families living in drought-plagued areas are helped to dig
wells for clean, safe drinking water, and for water to irrigate crops and
gardens.
You can
support these and other life-sustaining programs through your prayers by giving
through your congregation, or by sending contributions directly to:

It’s that
time of year again, so get your walking shoes on! The relay will be held at the
Firemen’s Field starting at 6 p.m. on Friday, June 6, and ending at 6 a.m. on
Saturday, June 7. In case you are not familiar with the Relay for Life, it is a
fundraising event to support cancer research, education and patient services. I
know we have all had cancer touch our lives in one way or another and wish
there was some way to fight it. This is one way to do just that and have fun at
the same time. See Pam Scutt (536-2791) if you are interested in walking,
sponsoring or to purchase a luminary in memory or in honor of a loved one.

May the Good Lord Bless and Keep You
May the
Good Lord bless and keep you whether near or far away
May you
find that long awaited golden day today
May your
troubles all be small ones, and your fortunes ten times ten
May the
Good Lord bless and keep you till we meet again.
May you
long recall the rainbows, then you’ll soon forget the rain
May the
warm and tender memories be the ones that will remain
Fill your
dreams with sweet tomorrows, never mind what might have been, May the Good Lord
bless and keep you til we meet again.
May the
Good Lord bless and keep you til we meet again.
