Wednesday, May 14 @ 7 p.m.
There will be a meeting for all those interested in a Mission trip to Mexico in October.
In case you didn’t get
your closets and garage cleaned out in time for the trailer to go to Utica last
month – you have another chance. Pastor John will be going on a Men’s Clean up
at Pathfinder Lodge and will make a stop in Utica for a drop off. Be sure to
have your items to him/the church by Thursday, May 15.
All-Church
Clean-Out Workday
Saturday, May 17, 9am-noon
This is a
great serving opportunity. Wear your work clothes and work gloves. Stay for an
hour or the morning.
Volunteer Needed
Cheryl Wood, a member of PYFBC needs a ride home from dialysis in Geneva on May 20, 27, 29, at 7:30 p.m. Please, call the church office at 536-9821 if you will be able to help her out. Cheryl would like to help with gas in exchange for a ride.
Next month’s newsletter
will be a combination of June/July. All articles need to be in to the church
office by May 20.
Last week HUBBA sponsored an “Empty Bowl” supper to bring awareness to World Hunger. Two women from our church; Cindy Ovens and Judi Gibbs
each made soup for 30, along with women from other area churches. Money raised
from this event was given to Food Cupboards, with $1000 going to Food for the
Needy and $500 to Dundee Food Cupboard. Well done ladies!!
We would like to remind you that the
chapel is open for you to use for
quiet
mediation and prayer. There is a basket
provided for prayer request.
MOTHER’S DAY BREAKFAST

Okay,
Ladies. Now it’s your turn to be pampered. Next Sunday, the men of the church
will cook breakfast for you! Bring your mothers and grandmothers, sisters,
daughters, aunts, and nieces. The cost is only $4 per person; kids under 5 eat
for free. On the menu:

we are agents of hope to those who suffer from the disasters that we see in the
news and those crushed by the silent tsunamis of hunger, poverty, and disease,
which may not make the evening news, but shatter lives as surely as a tidal
wave.
TOOLS & BLANKETS is a
special mission opportunity. Some 8,000 congregations and groups across the
U.S. hold TOOLS & BLANKETS offerings providing resources to help people in
some 80 nations.
Your gift
can provide blankets, tents and other emergency shelter items in the wake of a
disaster. Refugees returning home can be helped with tools to rebuild and seeds
to replant fields. Families living in drought-plagued areas are helped to dig
wells for clean, safe drinking water, and for water to irrigate crops and
gardens.
You can
support these and other life-sustaining programs through your prayers by giving

It’s that
time of year again, so get your walking shoes on! The relay will be held at the
Firemen’s Field starting at 6 p.m. on Friday, June 6, and ending at 6 a.m. on
Saturday, June 7. In case you are not familiar with the Relay for Life, it is a
fundraising event to support cancer research, education and patient services. I
know we have all had cancer touch our lives in one way or another and wish
there was some way to fight it. This is one way to do just that and have fun at
the same time. See Pam Scutt (536-2791) if you are interested in walking,
sponsoring or to purchase a luminary in memory or in honor of a loved one.
