Bake Sale
Ladies & Gents,
start your ovens!
The Trustees annual
bake sale will be held on Friday, August 22, at Five Star Bank. Think about
donating some goodies, your time or cash to help offset our BT&T
mortgage.Your donations of goodies can be left at the church kitchen on
Thursday, August 21, (be sure to label them BAKE SALE), or bring to the bank on
Friday morning. We will set up bright and early at 9 a.m. More information can
be obtained from Cheryl Stewart at 536-2570.
The new month will be
here before we know it. Fall schedules, church events, new classes forming,
etc. The deadline for the September newsletter will be Monday, August 18, 9
a.m.

Pastor’s Vacation
Pastor John will be
away on vacation in the Adirondacks region for two weeks. He will be back in
his office on Tuesday, Sept 2. Taking pastoral calls while he is away will be
Don Lawrence.
Parenting 101
Classes begin Sunday,
Sept. 14 following worship service. This class reinforces pro-active parenting
for the Christian household. See Eileen Modafarri for more info.
FYI – Shelley Bicksler is our public relations person for
the Chronicle Express. She is responsible for publicizing information on church
activities and events. If you are involved in a group that has events to
publicize please designate a person who will be responsible to relay necessary
information to Shelley. Any info needs to be in to her a week and a half
beforehand. Shelley’s phone number is 585-526-6845.
A Big
Thank You
to those who contributed food for the
sandwiches for the ABMen’s Conference and to Erma and Diane who helped me make
them. They were really appreciated and enjoyed.

Cobblestone
Springs Retreat Center will be hosting a Storytelling Event for all ages on
Saturday, August 23, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be live music between
stories and during the lunch hour. Bring your own picnic lunch and lawn chair.
Drinks and snacks will be sold on site. Advance registration is urged, as space
is limited. Call 536-0657. Adults $25, Seniors $20, Children 5-12 $10, Family
Rate $60. Featured voices: Janice Ogden (Penn Yan), Kathy Clarke (Webster),
Steve Coffman (Dundee), Freeman T. Freeman (Barrington), Birdy Burdick (Oneida
Indian Reservation).
Mission
Trip BBQ
A chicken
BBQ, sponsored by St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and Thrivent for Lutherans is
being held to raise funds for a Mission trip to Biloxi, MS for Katrina Relief.
Tickets ($8 each or a family pack of four for $30) are PRESALE only and can be
purchased by calling the church office at 536-8165. The dinners will be
available for pick up from noon until 3 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 30 at the
Fireman’s Field in Penn Yan. Chicken, salt potatoes, baked beans, cole slaw,
brownie and roll.
